The Austin Chronicle came out with their 2024 Best of Austin list on June 21st, and North Loop was well represented.
Here are our neighborhood winners in various categories:
- “Best Resurrected Movie Rental Spot”: We Luv Video, 100 East North Loop Ave.
- “Best New Patio for Patio-ing”: Double Trouble, 103 East North Loop Ave.
- “Best Vintage/Consignment Clothing”: Room Service Vintage, 117 East North Loop Ave. This award is particularly auspicious since there are approximately 100,000 vintage shops in town!
- “Best Adult Store”: Forbidden Fruit, 108 East North Loop Ave (again, won out over thousands of other adult stores).
Of course, it’s also an honor to just have been a finalist, so here are those local honorees:
- “Best Cocktail Bar”: Tigress Pub
- “Best Dive Bar”: Workhorse
- “Best Bartender”: Brandon Patrick at Double Trouble
- “Best Place for Sober Socializing”: Epoch Coffee
- “Best City Official”: Zo Qadri
- “Best US/State Official”: Greg Casar
