Hello Fellow North Loopers! My name is Stephanie Landgraf! I’m the Travis County Democratic Precinct Chair for precinct 215, which is the east side of North Loop, all the way to 35, and up to Koenig! I’ve been living in North Loop for a few years, I’ve worked in political organizing, I’m a volunteer deputy registrar (VDR), and I have a love for this city we call home!
As a leader for the local party right now in our politics, I decided to start the Rise Up Book Club! This is a space to come together not to just discuss a book we’ve all read, but to encourage each other to take what we learn and put it into action. We’ll be meeting the 3rd Saturday morning of every month at Double Trouble, starting on June 21st!
Each club meeting, we will discuss a book on the topic of democracy, justice, activism, or anything in between. Some of the books are:
- JUNE: The Sum of Us by Heather McGhee
- JULY: Into the Streets by Marke Bieschke
- AUGUST: Engines of Liberty by David Cole
