On Wednesday, November 5th, Councilmembers Chito Vela (D4) and Zo Qadri (D9) joined the North Loop Neighborhood Association meeting to award two former NLNA Presidents, Mike Wong and Brian Bedrosian, the Distinguished Service Award (DSA) for service to the City.
Mike’s impressive longevity as president lasted from 2008-2016. His thoughtful leadership included thinking through how he would answer questions as well as address issues, and his patience provided for a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and participation at meetings.
Brian’s dedication to the community is outstanding, including his past tenures as both VP and President of the NLNA and current service on the City Planning Commission. He exemplifies servant leadership and inclusion, as evidenced by a huge growth in participation at NLNA meetings in his tenure.
Congratulations to Mike and Brian for their well-deserved recognition, and thank you to Councilmembers Qadri and Vela for awarding our community members!
