Airport Boulevard Corridor

Currently: Work in progress northward along Airport Blvd. extending from Middle Fiskville Rd/55th St and progressing southward along the western side of Airport Blvd to 45th St.

- Completed: Successful install of 692 feet of shared-use path from Middle Fiskville Road to 55th Street.
- In Progress:
- Crews are currently working on the section from 51st Street to 46th Street.
- Crews are also currently building the shared-use path on the south side of Bruning Avenue, from Middle Fiskville Road (near the railroad tracks) to Airport Boulevard. Once that is complete, crews will repave Bruning Avenue between Airport Boulevard and Middle Fiskville Road.
- Conduit installation across Airport at 55th Street for the new pedestrian hybrid beacon (PHB) is underway.
Amenities for the Neighborhood: Improved pedestrian walkways (including a PHB for dedicated pedestrian crossing over Airport at 55th St), dedicated bike lanes, upgraded intersections (including mountable curbs at Bruning and Airport), a new bus stop at the southwest corner of Airport Boulevard and Bruning Avenue, and smoother traffic flow.

- A minimum of 1.25+ acres of green space is required by City zoning.
- Stormwater abatement via installed drainage.
- The Neighborhood Association and North Loop Plan Contact Team remain diligent about working with the developer to maximize benefits for neighbors within the proposed site plan.
